A big bantamweight bout is set for the UFC event on July 11 as Pedro Munhoz will take on former UFC Lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar.
Munhoz is hoping to bounce back after his loss against Aljamain Sterling at UFC 238. Prior to the major setback, the bantamweight was on a nice three-fight winning, besting Brett Johns (via unanimous decision at UFC 227), Bryan Caraway (via TKO at The Ultimate Fighter: Heavy Hitters Finale), and Cody Garbrandt (via KO at UFC 235). Munhoz’s professional record currently stands at 18 wins, 4 losses, and 1 no contest.
Edgar is coming off losses against former UFC Featherweight Champion Max Holloway (via unanimous decision at UFC 240) and then Chan Sung Jung (via TKO at UFC Fight Night 165). The former UFC Lightweight Champion only has two wins out his last five fights, besting Yair Rodríguez (via TKO at UFC 211) and Cub Swanson (via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 128). Edgar’s professional record currently stands at 23 wins, 8 losses, and 1 no contest.
The yet to be announced UFC card takes place on Saturday, July 11 with a location and main event set to be confirmed very soon.
