Joanna Jedrzejczyk will make her return to the strawweight division, as she's set to fight Michelle Waterson in a UFC Fight Night card on Oct. 12, MMA Fighting confirmed following a report by ESPN. According to Waterson’s manager Malki Kawa, the event will likely take place in San Francisco, Calif.

Jedrzejczyk is coming off challenging for the vacant flyweight title against Valentina Shevchenko, a bout that she ultimately lost via unanimous decision. Prior to the title bout, the Poland native defeated Tecia Torres in July 2018. The strawweight champion holds a win over new Strawweight champion Jessica Andrade, who defeated Rose Namajunas back in May. Jedrzejczyk’s current professional record stands at 15 wins and 3 losses.

Waterson is walking into her fight against Jedrzejczyk with some nice momentum, as the Colorado native has won her last three fights against Courtney Casey, Felice Herrig and Karolina Kowalkiewicz. Waterson’s current professional record stands at 17 wins and 6 losses.
