Former UFC fighter Sage Northcutt will finally make his debut for ONE Championship.
Late last year, the fight community was shocked when the former UFC star was released from the biggest MMA Organization out there. Northcutt was on a nice three-fight win streak before his departure, with UFC President Dana White claiming that he let Sage go so that the former UFC prospect could develop his skills in different organizations.
Northcutt went on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show and contradicted White’s statement by making it clear that he chose ONE Championship due to receiving a better offer from the promotion.
Whatever the story is, Northcutt’s first fight for ONE will be a welterweight bout against kickboxing specialist Cosmo Alexandre – who has a professional MMA record of 7 wins and 1 loss - at an event in Singapore on May 17. Northcutt announced the news at a ONE media gathering in Los Angeles on Tuesday.
