Last week, Nicco Montano was stripped of her Flyweight title due to failing to make weight.

The inaugural champion required medical attention due to a dangerous weight cut that led to issues with her kidneys, resulting in the cancellation of her co-main event bout against Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 228 Saturday in Dallas.

Her opponent Shevchenko blasted Montano for missing weight, accusing her of being “unprofessional” and casting doubt on the severity of Montano’s medical issues. Now the former champ has responded, writing a lengthy message on Instagram addressing both Shevchenko and the UFC for taking away the title that she won last year through The Ultimate Fighter 26 tournament.
