Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Tito Ortiz will make his debut for Combate Americas and will be fighting former WWE and Impact World Champion Alberto Del Rio.
The bout was confirmed by Combate CEO Campbell McLaren for the super fight during his appearance on the Generacion MMA podcast.
Back in April 2019, it was revealed that the former Light Heavyweight Champion had made a deal with the MMA promotion. Ortiz’s last fight was against Chuck Liddell in November 2018, which ended with a knockout victory for the California native. Tito’s professional MMA record currently stands at 20 wins, 12 losses, and 1 no contest.
Ever since his release from Impact Wrestling in 2018, the former Impact World Champion has shifted his focus to MMA. While the former Del Rio hasn’t fought since 2010, he’s been taking care of duties outside of the ring as the Combate Americas figurehead. Before stepping into the squared circle, Del Rio was an MMA fighter; His current professional MMA record stands at 9 wins and 5 losses.
There is no date or location for the fight yet, but the bout is expected to headline the show.
