Frankie Edgar vs. Pedro Munhoz has been moved again.
This bantamweight fight has been rescheduled for the third time as the match-up was previously set for the UFC 250 pay-per-view that featured Daniel Cormier vs. Stipe Miocic for the UFC Heavyweight Championship as the main event. The bout was moved to the pay-per-view after Munhoz tested positive for the coronavirus, which forced them to scrapped their fight on July 15.
Now, the bantamweight match will headline the fight night show on August 22, which also features Yoel Romero returning to take on Uriah Hall and Shamil Gamzatov vs. Ovince Saint Preux. Combate was the first to confirm the news. As of this writing, there’s no word on why officials decided to move the match-up once again.
The former UFC Lightweight Champion is looking to rebound from his two consecutive losses against former UFC Featherweight Champion Max Holloway (via unanimous decision at UFC 240) and Chan Sung Jung (via TKO at UFC Fight Night 165). Munhoz is also hoping to bounce back from his loss to Aljamain Sterling at UFC 238.
