A bantamweight bout between Frankie Saenz and Jonathan Martinez is reportedly in the works. According to MMA Junkie, the two fighters are currently expected to clash at the fight night event on August 1, though an official announcement has yet to made.
Saenz is looking to rebound after his TKO loss to Marlon Vera at UFC Fight Night 148. Overall, the bantamweight has managed to win two bouts out of his last five, beating Merab Dvalishvili (via split decision at UFC Fight Night 123) and Henry Briones (via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 129). His professional record currently stands at 13 wins and 6 losses.
Martinez is also looking to get a win following his loss to Andre Well at UFC 247. Since joining the promotion in 2018, the bantamweight has won two out of his four bouts, dropping Wuliji Buren (via unanimous decision at UFC 234) and Liu Pingyuan (via KO at UFC Fight Night 155). His professional record currently stands at 11 wins and 3 losses.
