A heavyweight contest has now been finalized for the UFC Fight Night show on June 27 as Gian Villante will face Maurice Greene.
Villante is coming into the contest looking to get back into the win column after the heavyweight suffered defeat at the hands of Michał Oleksiejczuk at UFC Fight Night 145. Villante hasn't had the best luck in his last five fights with his only victories being against Francimar Barroso (via split decision at UFC 220) and Ed Herman (via split decision at UFC Fight Night 138). His professional record currently stands at 17 wins and 11 losses.
Greene is also in need of a win as the heavyweight has suffered back-to-back losses to Sergei Pavlovich (via TKO at UFC Fight Night 162) and Aleksei Oleinik (via submission at UFC 246). Since making his debut back in 2018, Greene has found some success within the promotion by getting wins over Michel Batista (via submission at The Ultimate Fighter: Heavy Hitters Finale), Jeff Hughes (via split decision at UFC Fight Night 146), and Júnior Albini (via TKO at UFC on ESPN 3). Greene’s professional record currently stands at 8 wins and 4 losses.
The yet to be announced UFC Fight Night show takes place on Saturday, June 27 with a location and main event set to be confirmed very soon.
