Tonight, we’ll finally crown a new UFC Flyweight Champion.
Coming in, Deiveson Figueiredo has momentum on his side as the Brazilian pulled out the victory over Joseph Benavidez at UFC Fight Night 169. Benavidez has been in the MMA game for nearly 15 years and delivered some incredible performances throughout his tenure; however, the flyweight has yet to win a title under the UFC banner. Will Benavidez avenge his previous loss and leave tonight’s show as the new 125-pound champion?
In the co-main event, Kelvin Gastelum will make his return against Jack Hermansson. Gastelum hasn’t been able to bounce back after his UFC Interim Middleweight title loss to Israel Adesanya at UFC 236. On the other hand, Hermansson is also hoping to get back into the win column after suffering a TKO loss to Jared Cannonier at UFC Fight Night 160. Who will snap their losing streak on tonight’s fight night show?
Also competing on the event in Yas Island is Marc Diakiese, Ariane Lipski, Askar Askarov, Roman Dolidze, Malcolm Gordon, and Carlos Felipe. Check out the finalized line-up for UFC Fight Night: Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Joseph Benavidez II:
