A women’s bantamweight match-up will headline the UFC Fight Night show on August 1 as former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Holly Holm will take on Irene Aldana.
Holm managed to rebound against Raquel Pennington after her devastating loss to Amanda Nunes at UFC 239. The former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion hasn’t been able to gain some solid momentum following her title loss to Miesha Tate at UFC 196. Since then, Holm has only won three fights, which was also against Bethe Correia (via KO at UFC Fight Night 111) and Megan Anderson (via unanimous decision at UFC 225). Holm’s professional record currently stands at 13 wins and 5 losses.
Aldana is currently in the midst of a two-fight winning streak, beating Vanessa Melo (via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 159) and Ketlen Vieira (via KO at UFC 245). Despite a recent setback against Raquel Pennington at UFC on ESPN 4, the bantamweight also managed to score impressive wins over Lucie Pudilová (via split decision at UFC 228) and Bethe Correia (via submission at UFC 237) within her last five fights. Aldana’s professional record currently stands at 12 wins and 5 losses.
UFC Fight Night: Holm vs. Aldana takes place on Saturday, August 1 with a location set to be announced very soon.
