Invicta FC Strawweight Champion Kananko Murata will be making her way over to the UFC.
RIZIN, which is also the promotion she fights for, has confirmed the news on social media (Transcript courtesy of Fightful.com):
“Natsuko Murata "Fighting the world with the RIZIN signboard" RIZIN fighter # Natsuko Murata ( @m_r_t_k_n_k ) UFC participation is decided! A message arrived from Natsuko Murata for RIZIN fans!”
Murata has been fighting professionally since 2016 and amassed a name for herself with impressive victories over Lanchana Green (via submission at Rizin 10), Liana Pirosin (via submission at Invicta FC 35), and Saray Orozco (via submission at Rizin 15). Her win over Emily Ducote (via split decision at Invicta FC 38) saw the 26-year-old become the Invicta FC Strawweight Champion.
In addition to Rizin and Invicta FC, the strawweight has also fought in King of the Cage, Deep, and Shoot Boxing. Thus far, her professional record stands at 11 wins and 1 loss. As of this writing, there’s no word on when Murata could make her UFC debut.
