Kay Hansen is officially a member of the UFC roster.
The strawweight confirmed on both Twitter and Instagram that she’s signed a multi-fight deal with the promotion:
The young MMA fighter got her start professionally in 2015 and has mainly competed in the all-women’s promotion Invita FC. While she has losses against top tier fighters Kalyn Schwartz (via TKO at Invicta FC 28), Erin Blanchfield (via majority decision at Invicta FC 32), and Magdaléna Šormová (via split decision at Invicta FC Phoenix Series 1), Hansen’s wins outweigh them with the most notable being against Nicole Caliari (via submission at Invicta FC 37) and Sharon Jacobson (via submission at Invicta FC 33). Her professional record currently stands at 6 wins and 3 losses.
Hansen joins a stacked strawweight division that features Jessica Andrade, Rose Namajunas, Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Nina Ansaroff, and the UFC Strawweight Champion Weili Zhang. Thus far, it’s unknown when Hansen will make her debut for the UFC.
