Ion Cutelaba went full Hulk mode, then he went full Hulk smash. Cutelaba, who is nicknamed "The Hulk," very much looked the part on Saturday with his dominant win over Khalil Rountree at UFC Fight Night 160 in Copenhagen.
While everyone expected these two light heavyweights to slug it out from the stand-up position, Cutelaba went with a different strategy, approaching the fight with a wrestling game plan. Cutelaba looked one step ahead of Rountree throughout the fight, catching leg kicks and scoring multiple takedowns, while also landing some devastating elbows.
It was around the midway mark when Cutelaba swept the leg of Rountree and began with the ground-and-pound. A mixture of heavy punches and elbows forced the stoppage at 2:35 in the first.
Ion Cutelaba is back in the win column after losing to Glover Teixeira back in April. He now has a record of 15-4 and 1 NC. Khalil Rountree now falls to 8-4 with 1 NC.
