Holly Holm vs. Irene Aldana has been scrapped.

Originally, the women’s bantamweight bout was set to headline the show on Saturday, August 1 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada; however, Aldana revealed on Instagram that she tested positive for the coronavirus, thus her reasoning for pulling out of the event next week.

In their place, Derek Brunson vs. Edmen Shahbazyan will now step in the main event spot. In terms of the former UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion, Holm is off the card as well. As of this writing, there’s no word on when either fighter will make their return to the octagon.

Brunson is currently in the midst of a two-fight winning streak, beating Elias Theodorou (via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 151) and Ian Heinisch (via unanimous decision at UFC 241). Shahbazyan enters the bout on a massive 11-fight winning streak, with his latest victory being over Brad Tavares at UFC 244.
