A new middleweight bout has been confirmed for the upcoming UFC Fight Night card on July 18 as Jack Hermansson will take on Kelvin Gastelum.

Hermansson is coming off of a surprising loss to Jared Cannonier at UFC Fight Night 160. The devastating loss put the middleweight out of the top five in the division rankings. Still, Hermansson’s record in his last five fights is impressive with the 31-year-old scoring wins over Thales Leites (via TKO at UFC 224), Gerald Meerschaert (via submission at UFC on Fox 31), David Branch (via submission at UFC on ESPN 2), and Ronaldo Souza (via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 150). Hermansson’s professional record currently stands at 20 wins and 5 losses.

Gastelum is coming off two consecutive losses over Israel Adesanya (via unanimous decision at UFC 236) and Darren Till (via unanimous decision at UFC 244). In his last five fights, the middleweight has only won two bouts, which was against Michael Bisping (via KO at UFC Fight Night 122) and Ronaldo Souza (via split decision at UFC 224). Gastelum’s professional record currently stands at 15 wins, 5 losses, and 1 no contest.

The yet to be announced UFC card takes place on Saturday, July 18 with a location and main event set to be confirmed very soon.
