A big featherweight bout is set for UFC Fight Night: Kattar vs. Ige as Jimmie Rivera will face Cody Stamann.
Rivera will make his return a year after dropping a bout to Petr Yan at UFC 238. Despite the veteran being in the midst of a two-fight losing streak, Rivera has gotten two wins in his last five fights, beating Thomas Almeida (via unanimous decision at UFC on Fox 25) and John Dodson (via unanimous decision at UFC 228). Overall, Rivera has a strong professional record of 22 wins and 4 losses.
Other than a decision draw against Song Yadong at UFC on ESPN 7, Stamann has recent victories over Alejandro Pérez (via unanimous decision at UFC 235) and Brian Kelleher (via unanimous decision at UFC 250). Thus far, the featherweight has only suffered one loss in the UFC since his debut back in 2017. Stamann’s professional record currently stands at 19 wins and 2 losses.
UFC Fight Night: Kattar vs. Ige takes place on Wednesday, July 15 from Fight Island in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi with the two featherweights headlining.
