Can Johnny Walker get his first win in two years?

The main event of tonight’s fight night show will see a light heavyweight bout between Johnny Walker and Zhang Mingyang. For Walker, he’s in desperate need of a win as he’s currently in the midst of a two-fight skid. Both fights saw the 33-year-old take KO losses to Magomed Ankalaev and Volkan Oezdemir. Walker has only won three out of his last six fights, beating Anthony Smith, Ion Cuțelaba, and Paul Craig before his loss to Ankalaev. Currently, Walker is ranking at No. 13 in the light heavyweight division. His record is 21 wins, 9 losses, and 1 no contest.

His opponent won’t be an easy fighter to take down. Zhang Mingyang hasn’t lost a fight since 2019 and he’s currently in the middle of a 14-fight winning streak. Mingyang is coming off the back of impressive performances against Anthony Smith and Ozzy Diaz. Thus far, every fight that Mingyang has had in the UFC has ended via TKO. He’s currently ranked at No. 14 in the light heavyweight division. Mingyang’s professional record currently stands at 19 wins and 6 losses.

In the co-main event, former UFC Bantamweight Champion Aljamain Sterling continues his venture into the featherweight division as he’s fighting his toughest test to date - Brian Ortega. Sterling was successful in his return at UFC 300, but dropped back into the loss column thanks to Movsar Evloev at UFC 310. Despite the loss, Sterling has won four out of his last six matches. He’s currently ranked at No. 7 in the featherweight division. Sterling’s professional record stands at 24 wins and 5 losses.

Ortega is also coming in off a loss thanks to Diego Lopes. The UFC Featherweight title challenger’s record has been mixed as of late, with Ortega only winning two out of his last six fights. He’s currently ranked at No. 5 in the featherweight division. Ortega’s professional record currently stands at 16 wins and 4 losses.
