Ovince Saint Preux had to withdraw from his fight against Misha Cirkunov at UFC 235 due to injury, and now UFC newcomer Johnny Walker will step in as a replacement for the light heavyweight bout in Las Vegas on March 2.
Walker made a successful debut in November by finishing Khalil Rountree in less than two minutes in Argentina. At UFC Fortaleza, Walker also made quick work of Justin Ledet in 15 seconds of the fight. Walker’s professional MMA record stands at 16 wins and 3 losses.
Cirkunov comes into the bout hot off his first-round submission victory over Patrick Cummins at UFC Moncton. The light heavyweight's professional MMA record stands at 14 wins and 4 losses.
UFC 235 will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and feature Jon Jones vs. Anthony Smith for the light heavyweight gold as the headliner. In the co-main event, Tyron Woodley defends the 170-pound title against Kamaru Usman.
