By now, the financial issues between Jorge Masvidal and the UFC is well documented.

The Florida native has been vocal over his proposed offer for a fight against Kamaru Usman for the UFC Welterweight title, and it appears that Masvidal is willing to step away from the business if he isn’t paid what he’s worth.

During a recent fan Q&A, “Gamebred” stated that’s he’s set for life and has no problem walking away from the sport for good:

“I love to fight and I always get told don’t say that,” Masvidal said during a recent fan Q&A (transcript courtesy of MMA Fighting). “Because you know why? They expect me to do it cheap or damn near free. I love to compete in the sport that I do. But I’ve been doing it for a long time. I’ve been in the shadows studying, learning — what makes this guy be able to get that much money? That whole plan, we’ve been doing it for a while. We have a formula just like I do for fighting. I have a formula for the business side of it and if they don’t want to pay me what I’m worth, it’s cool. I’m set for life. I don’t have to fight. I fight because I love it.”

Masvidal last fought Nate Diaz at UFC 244, where he defeated the California native in a third round TKO to win the BMF Championship. From the sounds of it, White and Masvidal still don’t seem to be on the same page; however, the veteran holds no ill will towards White:

“He’s my co-worker,” Masvidal said. “It’s not like I’m going to go hang out with him anywhere anytime soon or anything like that. I don’t have no animosity towards him but I also don’t really like him too much either because he has to do his job which is to generate the most money for his company. I got to do my job which is to generate the most money for me and myself. So, you see where that clashes? You know, we’re not always going to see eye-to-eye but I don’t think he’s like a devil or this evil f*cking person. I just think he is doing his job and I got to do mine.”
