UFC Interim Lightweight Champion Justin Gaethje has finally responded.

Last Monday, former two-division champion Conor McGregor unleashed a scathing verbal attack on both Khabib Nurmagomedov and Justin Gaethje hoping to get under the skin of both men; however, McGregor’s tactics don’t seem to be working.

Following Nurmagomedov’s response, Gaethje has finally addressed Conor’s Twitter rant and the reigning UFC Interim Lightweight Champion doesn’t seem phased by McGregor’s words and believes that the 31-year-old is simply clout chasing because he doesn’t have the leverage like he used too:

Prior to Gaethje’s huge win over Tony Ferguson at UFC 249, the 155-pound fighter called out “Notorious” on multiple occasions to no avail as the Arizona native clearly wasn’t on McGregor’s radar. However, with McGregor looking to avenge his submission loss to Nurmagomedov at UFC 229, the former two-division champ is looking to fast track his way into the lightweight title picture.

As of this writing, McGregor has yet to respond to Gaethje’s comments. According to Dana White, the latest plan is to have Justin vs. Khabib for the lightweight title in September. Of course, the circumstances can always change.
