Cross Kamaru Usman vs. Gilbert Burns of the list of fights in 2020.

Once again, Burns has been forced to wait a little longer for his welterweight title shot as the championship match between both fighters have been pulled due to Usman needing more time to recover following his bout against Jorge Masvidal at UFC 251. Ariel Helwani of ESPN first reported the news.

Originally, Burns was set to get his title shot at UFC 251, but the Brazilian was forced to back out of the pay-per-view due to testing positive for the coronavirus. Word is that the match-up could be rescheduled for either January or February, though nothing is official just yet.

Burns recently shot down any notion that he’ll fight anyone else but Usman as an Interim title fight against Leon Edwards was purposed by Helwani and the No. 1 contender responded by stating that he's content with waiting for his match-up against Usman.

With one title fight down, UFC 256 now has the women’s featherweight title bout between Amanda Nunes and Megan Anderson. It's unknown whether officials are seeking another bout as a replacement for the main event.
