Kelvin Gastelum deems his performance an embarrassment.

The Ultimate Fighter 17 winner competed in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night: Figueiredo vs. Benavidez II and the middleweight suffered a quick submission loss to Jack Hermansson. Unfortunately for Gastelum, this is his third consecutive loss as the 28-year-old was also beaten by Israel Adesanya and Darren Till.

Following his bout against Hermansson, Gastelum took to social media and addressed his recent loss and states that he’s truly embarrassed by his performance on Saturday night. The California native doesn’t make excuses for his recent defeat and promises to return to the octagon with a better performance:

Luckily for fans and Gastelum, he’ll be given another opportunity within the UFC as Dana White spoke about the middleweight and he doesn’t deem his bout against Jack Hermansson as a crossroads fight (Transcript courtesy of MMA Junkie):

“That kid’s always exciting,” White said. “He’s always in fun fights, and I think (Saturday) night’s going to be the same, too. I think that’s a really fun fight. He’s always in it. He’s always right there. We’ll find out. I don’t think it’s a crossroads fight, though. This is a kid that win, lose or draw will still be in the top 10, will still be exciting and can pull out a win with one punch.”
