Ketlen Vieira will be fighting at UFC 253 after all as the bantamweight is set to take on Sijara Eubanks. Originally, Vieira vs. Marion Reneau was the planned match-up going in; however, Reneau suffered an undisclosed injury.
Vieira’s momentum was snapped when she was dropped by Irene Aldana via knockout at UFC 245. Before the crushing loss, the bantamweight was on a strong ten-fight winning streak that saw Vieira beat Ashlee Evans-Smith (via unanimous decision at UFC on Fox 24), Sara McMann (via submission at UFC 215), and Cat Zingano (via split decision at UFC 222). Her professional record currently stands at 10 wins and 1 loss.
Eubanks is coming off two big wins as the bantamweight beat Julia Avila and Sarah Moras. Despite her back-to-back losses to Aspen Ladd and Bethe Correia, Eubanks has managed to win three out of her last five fights by dropping Roxanne Modafferi (via unanimous decision at UFC 230) as well. Her professional record currently stands at 6 wins and 4 losses.
UFC 253 takes place on Saturday, September 26 from Fight Island in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi with Israel Adesanya and Paulo Costa for the UFC Middleweight title headlining.
