Jack Shore has been pulled from his fight against Khaild Taha.
The bantamweight was scheduled to take on Taha at UFC on ESPN+ 40 next week; however, Raoni Barcelos will step in to fight Taha instead. The reasoning behind Shore’s withdrawal remains unknown.
Taha is stepping into the octagon following a yearlong suspension for a positive furosemide test. His fight against Bruno Gustavo da Silva ended up being overturned, though the bantamweight did score an impressive TKO win over Boston Salmon at UFC 236. Overall, Taha’s professional record currently stands at 13 wins, 2 losses, and 1 no contest.
Barcelos enters the contest on a strong eight-fight winning streak, with the bantamweight’s latest win being over Said Nurmagomedov at UFC Fight Night Busan. Thus far, Barcelos is undefeated within the promotion, having beaten Kurt Holobaugh, Chris Gutierrez, and Carlos Huachin as well. His professional record currently stands at 15 wins and 1 loss.
