Khamzat Chimaev could be stepping into the octagon several months after getting two consecutive wins as officials are aiming for the undefeated welterweight to take on Gerald Meerschaert.
Chimaev is fresh off his impressive TKO and submission wins over Rhys McKee and John Phillips that extended his undefeated streak in the octagon. Prior to his UFC debut last week, Chimaev also fought in Brave Combat Federation, Fight Club Rush, and International Ring Fight Arena. Overall, his professional record currently stands at 8 wins and 0 losses.
Meerschaert is looking to regain momentum following his loss to Ian Heinisch at UFC 250. The middleweight hasn’t had much luck in his last five fights as he’s only gotten two victories, beating Deron Winn (via submission at UFC 248) and Trevin Giles (via Technical Submission at UFC on ESPN 5). Meerschaert’s professional record currently stands at 31 wins and 13 losses.
