Leon Edwards will be fighting in the UFC for the foreseeable future.
The Jamaica native will step into the octagon against former UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley at UFC Fight Night London; however, it has been confirmed by
MMA Fighting that Edwards has signed a multi-fight deal with the promotion.
Edwards has had a stellar run with the UFC thus far, as the welterweight made a name for himself by beating big name talents such as Donald Cerrone, Gunnar Nelson, and Rafael dos Anjos. Overall, his record within the promotion is 10 -2.
Edwards is currently on a eight-fight winning streak and hasn’t lost a bout in five years. Should Edwards defeat Woodley – who currently holds the #1 ranking in the welterweight division - in London, then the fighter gets one step closer to finally challenging for the Welterweight Championship. The only names above him besides Woodley are Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington.
