Lightweight Lando Vannata will make his return to the octagon at UFC 234 against Marcos Mariano in Melbourne on Feb. 9, the promotion announced.

Mariano will be making his debut inside the UFC octagon with a record of 6 wins and 4 losses. His last bout against Alessandro Taiete de Matos ended with a knockout victory for the lightweight fighter. Mariano is a teammate of former middleweight champion Anderson Silva, who faces Israel Adesanya on the same card in Australia.

Vannata hasn’t had much luck in the UFC thus far. The lightweight fighter is 1-3-2 in his six UFC appearances. His only cctagon win was a TKO victory against John Makdessi with a wheel kick. Vannata's professional record is 9 wins, 3 losses, and 2 no contest. UFC 234 takes place at the Rod Laver Arena and features Robert Whittaker vs. Kelvin Gastelum for the middleweight title in the main event.
