A new middleweight bout has been set for UFC 250 as Maki Pitolo will take on Charles Byrd at the pay-per-view.
Following his big win over Justin Sumter on Dana White’s Contender Series Season 3, the middleweight failed to recapture the magic against Callan Potter at UFC 243 in October of 2019. Thus far, Pitolo remains winless within the promotion. However, despite his recent setback, Pitolo has fought successfully in Cage Fury Fighting Championships, Bellator MMA, and Victory Fighting Championship. His professional record currently stands at 12 wins and 5 losses.
Byrd is another Dana White’s Contender Series alumni and the middleweight found success in his debut against John Phillips at UFC Fight Night 127, but Bryd would end up suffering back-to-back losses against Darren Stewart (via TKO at UFC 228) and Edmen Shahbazyan (via TKO at UFC 235). Like Pitolo, Byrd also found outside success in Legacy Fighting Championship and Global Fighting Promotions. His professional record currently stands at 10 wins and 6 losses.
UFC 250 takes place on Saturday, June 6 from a location to be announced with Amanda Nunes and Felicia Spencer for the UFC Women’s Featherweight Title headlining.
