The flyweights main event the latest UFC Fight Night.

In what should be a thrilling contest, Manel Kape is scheduled to fight UFC newcomer Asu Almabayev. Kape suffered a minor setback when he lost to Muhammad Mokaev at UFC 304. That snapped an impressive four fight winning streak with two jaw-dropping knockouts. However, the 31-year-old bounced back at UFC on ESPN: Covington vs. Buckley with a knockout win over Bruno Gustavo da Silva. Kape comes in with a record of 20 wins and 7 losses.

However, Kape must fight a man who has yet to lose in the UFC. In fact, Almabayev hasn’t lost a bout in eight years! The flyweight made his UFC debut in 2023 and instantly opened eyes with a strong submission win over Ode' Osbourne that earned him performance of the night. Almabayev has followed that up with three more wins over C.J. Vergara, Jose Johnson, and Matheus Nicolau. The 31-year-old is currently in the midst of a 17-fight winning streak. Almabayev’s record stands at 21 wins and 2 losses.

In the co-main event, both Cody Brundage and Julian Marquez are looking to regain some steam after a few losses. Brundage is coming off a loss and a no contest in his past two fights. That loss at UFC 300 broke a solid two-fight winning streak that saw the middleweight slowly rising through the rankings. Brundage’s record currently stands at 10 wins and 6 losses.

Marquez is in the midst of a three-fight skid. It’s been four years since the middleweight has gotten a win; with his last three fights ending in a devastating knockout. Marquez’s record currently stands at 9 wins and 5 losses.
