A lightweight bout has been rescheduled for the UFC Fight Night event on September 12 as Matt Frevola will take on Roosevelt Roberts. Originally, both men were set to meet back in April, but the bout was scrapped due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Frevola started off in the UFC rough, with the lightweight suffering a KO loss to Polo Reyes at UFC Fight Night 124. Following a draw against Lando Vannata at UFC 230, Frevola regained momentum with consecutive wins over Jalin Turner (via unanimous decision at UFC 236) and Luis Peña (via split decision at UFC Fight Night 161). His professional record currently stands at 8 wins, 1 loss, and 1 no contest.
Roberts is coming off a loss against Jim Miller at UFC on ESPN 11; That loss snapped a two-fight winning streak that saw him beat Alexander Yakovlev (via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 163) and Brok Weaver (via submission at UFC on ESPN 9). Roberts' professional record currently stands at 10 wins and 2 losses.
The event is expected to take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, though no official announcement has been made. The placement of the lightweight bout is currently unknown. Check out the updated line-up for the fight night show:
