Nate Diaz isn’t thrilled about the potential Conor McGregor vs. Dustin Poirier fight.
While the sudden return of the former UFC Lightweight Champion has many excited over a rematch between the two top lightweights, Diaz called out both men for their potential rematch:
While McGregor had no interest in responding, the former UFC Interim Lightweight Champion had no problem trying to check the Stockton native by stating that he could beat his ass too:
Diaz responded by saying he was only looking to take on real fighters:
The history between Diaz, McGregor, and Poirier is well documented at this point. The 35-year-old became the first man to beat Conor McGregor in the UFC, with “Notorious” avenging his loss at UFC 202. Both men have teased a third fight; however, the actual match-up has never come close to being made.
In terms of Poirier, Diaz was supposed to fight “The Diamond” at UFC 230, but the bout was scrapped when Poirier pulled out of it due to hip injury. Both men have been feuding ever since as Diaz doesn’t believe that the 31-year-old had an injury and Poirier claimed that Diaz already withdrew before his injury occurred.
Diaz has teased a return to the octagon lately, though an opponent has yet to be confirmed. At first, it seemed that Diaz vs. Masvidal II was in the works, but Dana White shifted his attention to Covington vs. Masvidal.
