Nate Diaz isn’t a fan on the UFC Welterweight bout between Kamaru Usman and Gilbert Burns.

Earlier this week, the championship match between Burns and Usman was finally confirmed for UFC 251 and it didn’t take the Stockton native long to criticize the welterweight bout. According to Diaz, he believes that Burns took the fight for a low financial amount, thus the reason he was given the title shot:

Diaz is clearly referring to Usman not defending the belt against Jorge Masvidal, who is currently in a financial dispute with Dana White. Masvidal was tapped to fight for the 170-pound belt throughout the year; however, “Gamebred” blasted the company for offering him less than what he got for his bout against Diaz.

Burns has yet to respond to Diaz’s post; however, Usman didn’t take long to call out the 35-year-old by laying out his and Masvidal’s track record and labeling Diaz a “bum”:

Despite Diaz’s critique of the match-up, Burns is currently on a six-fight winning streak with his dominant victory over former UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley getting him into the #1 spot of the division. On the other hand, Masvidal is currently ranked at #3 in the division, even though he’s gotten wins over Darren Till, Ben Askren, and Nate Diaz.
