Nate Diaz took some more shots are Gilbert Burns.
First, the Stockton native fired shots at the potential Dustin Poirier/Conor McGregor rematch and now the 35-year-old takes aim at the No. 1 contender for the UFC Welterweight title.
To recall, When Masvidal originally turned down the championship fight due to a financial dispute between him and UFC officials, Burns stepped in, who was fresh off his dominant win over former UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley.
Diaz blasted the Brazilian for accepting the fight for lower pay and the popular UFC star hasn’t held back on his hatred on Burns since. Last week, Diaz posted a video of Dan Hooker knocking out Burns at UFC 226:
Burns didn’t stay silent however and took a jab at Diaz’s win/loss record:
During the exchanges between Burns and Diaz, Hooker took notice and challenged the veteran to a fight.
Diaz has been very complimentary of the lightweight lately, dubbing him as the “#1 welterweight right now”, even though Hooker currently fights in the 155-pound division. Thus far, Diaz has yet to respond to Hooker’s challenge.
