A women’s flyweight bout is confirmed for the UFC Fight Night event on July 11 as Paige VanZant will face Amanda Ribas.
Since making her debut in June 2019, Ribas has beaten Mackenzie Dern (via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 161), Randa Markos (via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 170) and Emily Whitmire (via submission at UFC on ESPN 3). The flyweight hasn’t lost an MMA bout in five years. Ribas' professional record currently stands at 9 wins and 1 no contest.
VanZant is coming off a submission victory over Rachael Ostovich at UFC Fight Night 143. The flyweight’s record within the last five bouts are a mixed bag as Van Zant has three losses to Jessica-Rose Clark (via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 124), Michelle Waterson (via Technical Submission at UFC on Fox 22), and Rose Namajunas (via submission at UFC Fight Night 80). The 26-year-old’s only other win is against Bec Rawlings at UFC on Fox 21. VanZant’s professional record currently stands at 8 wins and 4 losses.
