Polyana Viana vs. Emily Whitmire has reportedly been rescheduled for the fight night event on August 29 in Las Vegas, Nevada. MMA Junkie and Combate reported the match-up; however, the strawweight bout hasn’t been announced by the promotion yet.
Viana has only managed to win one bout since making her UFC debut in 2018, beating Maia Stevenson at UFC Fight Night 125. Since then, the strawweight has been dropped by JJ Aldrich (via unanimous decision at UFC 227), Hannah Cifers (via split decision at UFC 235), and Veronica Macedo (via submission at UFC Fight Night 156). Still, her overall record remains solid with 10 wins and 4 losses.
Whitmire is also looking to get back into the win column as the strawweight failed to beat Amanda Ribas at UFC on ESPN 3. Whitmire’s professional record in her last four fights is a mixed bag, with the 29-year-old only winning two bouts, dropping Jamie Moyle (via unanimous decision at UFC 226) and Aleksandra Albu (via submission UFC on ESPN 1). Her professional record currently stands at 4 wins and 3 losses.
