For the first time in Bellator, Fedor Emelianenko will fight former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. Bellator CEO Scott Coker announced the big fight on social media, with the expected bout to take place in Japan this December.
Considered an MMA legend, Fedor has been fighting since 2000 and beaten stars such as Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira, Mirko Cro Cop, Frank Mir, and Chael Sonnen. The 43-year-old is coming off a loss to Ryan Bader back in January for the vacant Bellator Heavyweight World Championship. Fedor’s professional mixed martial arts record stands at 38 wins and 6 losses.
Jackson’s last fight was back in 2018 against Wanderlei Silva and the former UFC Light Heavyweight champion walked out victorious via knockout. The Tennessee native hasn’t seen much action within the last couple of years, but is 2-2 under the Bellator banner. Jackson’s record currently stands at 38 wins and 13 losses.
Bellator Japan will take place at the Saitama Super Arena in Tokyo, Japan on December 29th. The card will air live on DAZN.
