Two fights have been scrapped due to the coronavirus.

Nicco Montano and Ricky Simon are off their upcoming fight night shows due to testing positive for COVID-19. Nicco was set to take on Julia Avila on October 3. Simon was prepared to fight Brian Kelleher this weekend from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, but the bantamweight revealed that one of his cornermen tested positive for the coronavirus:

There’s no word on whether there's plans to reschedule the two bouts for a later date. Montano was hoping to get back into the win column as the bantamweight lost her bout against Julianna Peña at UFC Fight Night 155. On the other hand, Simon was entering his fight with some solid momentum as the veteran had previously beaten Ray Borg at UFC Fight Night 171.

Thus far, it appears that this weekend’s UFC Vegas 9 show will continue with one less match-up on the card as there’s no news on officials searching for a replacement to take on Brian Kelleher. The latest fight night show will be headlined with a heavyweight bout between Alistair Overeem and Augusto Sakai.
