A welterweight fight has been confirmed for UFC 245, as Santiago Ponzinibbio will take on Robbie Lawler according to MMA Junkie.

Ponzinibbio is walking into the bout with a strong seven fight winning streak that features wins over Mike Perry, Gunnar Nelson, and Court McGee. The Argentina native hasn’t loss a fight since 2015 against Lorenz Larkin. The welterweight fighter’s professional mixed martial arts record currently stands at 27 wins and 3 losses.

Lawler on the other hand comes into the bout on a three-fight losing streak, suffering defeats at the hands of Colby Covington, Ben Askren, and Rafael dos Anjos. The former welterweight champion’s last win came against Donald Cerrone back at UFC 214 in July 2017. Lawler’s record currently stands at 28 wins, 14 losses, and 1 no contest.

UFC 245 takes place on Saturday, December 14 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with no main event announced at this time.
