A light heavyweight bout between Rondalo "Jacare" Souza and Jan Blachowicz has been confirmed for UFC Sao Paulo in November.
Souza is making his debut as a light heavyweight, as the Brazil native is coming off a loss to Jack Hermansson back in April. The 39-year-old’s record inside the octagon for his last five fights has been a mixed bag, with Souza securing wins over Chris Weidman and Derek Brunson, but losing two other fights to Kelvin Gastelum and Robert Whittaker. Souza’s current professional record stands at 26 wins, 7 losses, and 1 no contest.
Blachowicz is entering the bout with some nice momentum due to a win over former UFC middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold at UFC 239. The light heavyweight’s fighting record for his last five bouts has seen him gain victories over Nikita Krylov, Jimi Manuwa, and Jared Cannonier. His only loss recently comes from Thiago Santos back in February. Blachowicz’s mma record stands at 24 wins and 8 losses.
UFC Sao Paulo will take place on Nov. 16 at the Ginasio do Ibirapuera. With this latest addition, here is the entire card thus far:
