A new women’s flyweight bout is set for the UFC Fight Night card on June 20th as Roxanne Modafferi will take on Lauren Murphy.
Modafferi is coming off a unanimous decision win over Maycee Barber at UFC 246, though the flyweight has been a mixed bagged in her last five fights. Modafferi has won two other bouts, beating Barb Honchak (via TKO at The Ultimate Fighter: Undefeated Finale) and Antonina Shevchenko (via split decision at UFC Fight Night 149). Modafferi’s professional record currently stands at 24 wins and 16 losses.
Murphy is coming in with some solid momentum as the featherweight is currently in the midst of a two-fight winning streak, beating Mara Romero Borella (via TKO at UFC on ESPN 5) and Andrea Lee (via split decision at UFC 247). This is the first pair of consecutive wins for Murphy since joining the promotion in 2013, with her early career in Invicta Fighting Championships and Legacy Fighting Championship being her professional best thus far. Murphy’s current record stands at 12 wins and 4 losses.
The unnamed UFC Fight Night event will take place on Saturday, June 20 with a location and main event soon to be announced.
