Sam Alvey finally explains why he pulled out of his co-main event fight.
Last week, the light heavyweight was pulled from his bout against Mauricio "Shogun" Rua at UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo; however, the reasoning behind his withdrawal was disclosed.
Alvey addressed on social media why he was forced to pull out, which was simply due to suffering a broken hand during training. The 33-year-old provided an x-ray of his hand which confirms his injury:
With Alvey out of the picture, the former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion will now take on Paul Craig in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo. The fight night event takes place on Saturday, November 16 from the Ibirapueroa Gymnasium in Sao Paulo, Brazil with Jan Blachowicz and Ronaldo Souza headlining.
