Sean O'Malley earned his second win of the year on Saturday at UFC 250 and improved his his overall record to a perfect 12-0. Coming off a knockout win against Jose Quinonez at UFC 248 in March, the rising bantamweight star needed less than two minutes to end his UFC 250 opponent, Eddie Wineland.

Wineland, considered one of the division's more durable fighters, landed a significant right hand in the second minute of the fight, but the dangerous O'Malley responded with his own just a minute later. Shortly after, "Sugar" connected with another flush right hand that immediately sent Wineland to the canvas. The always-smooth O'Malley offered no follow-up shots, simply walking away from his opponent as referee Herb Dean waived the fight off at 1:54 of the first round.

It was another impressive knockout for O'Malley, who maintains that his Brazilian jiu-jitsu background remains a secret weapon in the Octagon. After the fight, O'Malley said he'd prefer to continue fighting strikers. "I love knocking people out. I've been knocking people out since I was 16," he said after the fight. "If I can keep knocking people out, I'm going to keep doign that. My jiu-jitsu is just little secret weapon that we're going to continue to work on. It's going to continue to get better and I'm just going to keep getting better at everything."

With the win, the 25-year-old O’Malley remains a perfect 12-0 professionally. Wineland is now 24-14-1 and has lost three of his past four fights.
