A new heavyweight bout is confirmed for the upcoming fight night card on July 18 as Carlos Felipe will take on Serghei Spivac.
Felipe will be making his UFC debut on July 18, with the heavyweight coming in strong on a eight-fight winning streak. The 25-year-old managed to impress with his dominant wins over Alex Ardson (via TKO at MNA MMA Circuit 2), Paulo Cesar Almeida (via TKO at Fight On MMA 4), and Francisco Sandro da Silva Bezerra (via TKO at Qualify Combat 2 - In Search of Glory). Felipe has also competed in Velame Fight Combat, Shooto Brazil, and Full House. His professional record currently stands at 8 wins and 0 losses.
Since making his debut with the UFC in 2019, Spivac has only managed to get one win within the promotion thus far. The heavyweight failed to beat Walt Harris in his debut at UFC Fight Night 151, but rebounded with a victory over Tai Tuivasa at UFC 243. He returned to the octagon in February against Marcin Tybura, but ultimately lost the bout via unanimous decision. Despite his low UFC record thus far, Spivac came into the promotion undefeated and is a former WWFC Heavyweight Champion. His professional record currently stands at 10 wins and 2 losses.
The yet to be announced UFC card takes place on Saturday, July 18 from Fight Island in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi with no main event announced at this time. The placement of the heavyweight match has yet to be determined.
