A women’s strawweight bout has been added to UFC 246.
MMA Junkie is reporting that Claudia Gadelha will be taking on Alexa Grasso on the pay-per-view in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Gadelha is coming into the bout with some momentum, as the Brazil native defeated Randa Markos at UFC 239 in July. The 30-year-old has seen mixed results in her last five fights, with her two other wins coming against Carla Esparza and Karolina Kowalkiewicz. Gadelha’s current record stands at 17 wins and 4 losses.
Grasso is looking to bounce back after her loss to Carla Esparza at UFC Fight Night Mexico City. The strawweight’s results in her last five fights has been a mixed bag as well, with her two victories coming at the expense of Karolina Kowalkiewicz and Randa Markos. Grasso’s record stands at 11 wins and 3 losses.
UFC 246 takes place on Saturday, January 18 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with no main event announced at this time.
