Back in July, it was revealed that Alberto El Patron will make a return to his MMA roots and fight former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, Tito Ortiz.
Now, the date for the bout has been confirmed, as the two fighters will meet on Saturday, December 7 for Combate Americas. Interestingly, that date will also hold the UFC Fight Night DC event, which will be headlined with a bout between Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris.
Ortiz is coming into the bout on a nice two-fight win streak, as the former UFC star has defeated legends Chuck Liddell and Chael Sonnen in impressive fashion. Ortiz’s current record stands at 20 wins, 12 losses, and 1 no contest.
El Patron will be fighting for the first time in nine years, as his last win was against Arthur Bart in Cage of Combat in February 2010. The former WWE superstar has also fought in PRIDE and DEEP MMA, a Tokyo based promotion. El Patron’s mixed martial arts record stands at 9 wins and 5 losses.
Combate Americas: Ortiz vs. El Patron takes place on Saturday, December 7 from the Payne Arena in Hidalgo, Texas, with the reported pay-per-view price set to be $39.99.
