UFC Kansas City has been confirmed.
The upcoming full fight card features a retirement bout for former UFC Light Heavyweight title contender Anthony Smith as he'll step into the octagon one last time against Zhang Mingyang in the co-main event.
Smith is hoping to rectify a crushing loss to Dominick Reyes that had many calling for his retirement, including UFC CEO Dana White. This is a huge fight for Zhang Mingyang he’s an unranked competitor thus far and a win here will move him into the top 15 list of the UFC Light Heavyweight division.
In the actual main event, former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jamahal Hill is hoping to break out of his two-fight skid as he’ll square up against Khalil Rountree Jr, who’s coming off a UFC Light Heavyweight title loss to Alex Periera at UFC 307. Hill is currently ranked at number four and Rountree is at number seven in the top 15 list.
Michel Pereira is another well known name reeling from a devastating loss and he’ll have a chance to redeem himself against Abus Magomedov. This is Magomedov’s chance to get back into the top 15 rankings as the middleweight is coming in with a two-fight winning streak.
Veterans Giga Chikadze, Randy Brown, and Matt Schnell are also scheduled to fight on the upcoming show. UFC returns to Kansas City and the T-Mobile Center on April 26. As always, the card is subject to change.
