Blaydes is currently on a hot streak as the heavyweight has gotten three consecutive wins over Justin Willis (via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 148), Shamil Abdurakhimov (via TKO at UFC 242) and former UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior Dos Santos (via TKO at UFC Fight Night 166). The last time Blaydes lost a bout was against Francis Ngannou back on November 24, 2018. His professional record currently stands at 13 wins, 2 losses, and 1 no contest.
Despite losing to Derrick Lewis at UFC 229, Volkov has managed to win four out of his last five fights. The heavyweight bounced back with a win over Greg Hardy at UFC Fight Night 163; Prior to his loss to Lewis, Volkov also beat Fabrício Werdum (via KO at UFC Fight Night 127), Stefan Struve (via TKO at UFC Fight Night 115), and Roy Nelson (via unanimous decision at UFC on Fox 24). Volkov’s professional record currently stands at 31 wins and 7 losses.
UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs. Volkov takes place on Saturday, June 20 from a location to be announced with the two heavyweights headlining the event.
