The latest medical suspension will see a top contender out of action for nearly six months.
Jared Cannonier – who fought former UFC Middleweight Champion Robert Whittaker in the co-main event – has been issued an 180 days suspension unless he’s cleared by a doctor. The news isn’t much of a surprise as Cannonier revealed that he actually broke his arm during the match-up.
In terms of Whittaker, he’s received a much shorter sentence as the fighter only got seven days. Justin Gaethje, Alexander Volkov, Phil Hawes, Lauren Murphy, and Magomed Ankalaev are also some of the names that received a seven-day suspension.
UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov was also handed a seven-day suspension, though it won’t matter due to the 30-year-old announcing his retirement. Check out the full medical suspension list provided by MMA.tv:
