The medical suspensions for UFC Rio have finally been released.
This past Saturday saw the thrilling return to form for Charles Oliveira, who got an impressive submission win over Mateusz Gamrot in the main event. The former UFC Lightweight Champion barely took any damage, so it’s no surprise that he only got a 14 day suspension. Oliveira is known to jump back into the octagon quickly so it wouldn’t be surprising if he fought in 2025 again.
His opponent, Mateusz Gamrot, only has 14 days as well, so if Gamrot opted to fight again this year then he could. Former UFC Flyweight Champion Deiveson Figueiredo is in the same boat as he’s only been suspended for 14 days as well.
The fighters with the longest suspensions are Vicente Luque, Clayton Carpenter, Lucas Almeida, Jhonata Diniz, and Saimon Oliveira. Each fighter is forced to sit out for 180 days.
