The lightweight battle between Polo Reyes and Dong Hyun Kim gets the spotlight here.
On a pay-per-view that featured a UFC Middleweight title match between Michael Bisping and Luke Rockhold, and the third chapter of the Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber, the most memorable match that night was Polo Reyes vs. Dong Hyun Kim.
Reyes was coming off an impressive performance against Cesar Arzamendia at The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America 2 Finale. The lightweight was still a rookie within the UFC as his fight against Arzamendia was his debut within the promotion. Reyes made a name for himself in World Fighters Championship, Xtreme Kombat, and Black Fighting Championships. His professional record was 5 wins and 3 losses going into his fight against Dong Hyun Kim.
Kim was in need of a win after failing to beat Dominique Steele in his debut at UFC Fight Night 79. Like Reyes, the lightweight made a name for himself outside of the big promotion as Kim competed in King of Fight, Top Fighting Championships, and Sun Fighting Championships. Kim’s professional record was 13 wins, 7 losses, and 3 no contests going into his bout against Reyes.
In the Preliminary contest, both men managed to open eyes by delivering an exciting fight that wasn’t topped by anything else on the card. Check out the bout between Polo Reyes and Dong Hyun Kim below:
